Why German cars expensive to Maintain_1

BMW $ 150 oil changes? The true cost of ownership

My wifes DD is a 02 A6 widebody When it works properly, it is wonderful, but has maintenance problems easily 3 times more often than my two American cars together in just two years of ownership I have put over 12k just to keep on the road.
I have three experiences of German cars - Two VW Jetta Diesel TDI 85 91 pre purchased new - Ran at the end of the warranty and traded, well almost had to buy a generator at about 400 clams in all a good experience not many repairs, either in or out of warranty.
At 7,500 miles was very close to the new, purchased an extended warranty 2K salesmans all inclusive advice A wonderful German road car that would cruise all day 100 mph or more smooooth could be the snow incredible traction or ice would also climb a very steep rgade in 3 -4 inches of gravel and not turn a wheel.
Maintenance - OMG Summary- In 1500 a 5 years None of pocket with the guarantee of a session that comes to mind is was in 1800 to replace a rack pinion leaking, plus a car rental week covered everything but imagine having no warranties or do it yourself.

Nice cars but never venture into the tools or know how much money.
Montana So Many Roads Z06 so soon Z06 Z16 1571.
That s the hook Can I ask what costs so at some point, there must be a line in the sand Thats exceeding the value of the car.
Part of it has to do with where I lived when I bought the Oahu car- So there is already a premium on shipping When the car seemed like a good value that I work black lot of used cars and taken to 18,500- to retail KBB time was 29k he was entitled to approximately 20 thousand miles on it.

But the transsexual started leaking about the 23k mark mile We tried to get it fixed 3 times per 1k repair shop charged 125 an hour for work - we had finally have happily replaced- the dealer pitied me after finding out I was just a Navy enlisted and not your typical upper and Audi owner- Dr. Ie lawyer etc. They charged me another great and had a transgendered Suspended in Germany around the same time that I had to replace the front brakes due to a failure if caliper calipers front rotors and brake pads overnighted was about 1200 we did the work ourselves so we saved a little there once we returned in CONUS, we noticed a vibration in the front which progressively worse we took it and found the 5-link suspension at the front had gone bad- to replace control arm and poly bushings 3300 he was with the work the shop also noted that all 4 wheels were bent to the point they could no longer be balanced- which was another 1300 for new shoes t here have been other nitnoid system Evap Repair bad- who had gone in 1200 to fix the other, I remember was the turn signal switch went bad- we had to replace the entire stem - which was 300 must mix European 5W40 synthetic- filter is around 75 if you do it yourself - fresh Stealership 120 for this service 60k miles HIGHLY recommend they replace the timing is around 3k chain Labor- you almost get the engine to do it.
However, he said to me when working properly is an amazing car, very quiet- it's 4 2V8 and is actually very fast, he can stay with my Mach no problem with the all-wheel drive, it can handle just twisties You can adapt well 5 adults included driver comfortably fuel economy is not terrible, but it's almost 4k lb luxury sedan However, if I had to do it all over again I'd probably go with a 2000 M3 or M5 LOL a guarantee.

I agree that they have a great performance for such a large car you were lucky to get the V8 turbo s available in A4, A6 or S-Line cars usually go about 90k miles and they're not cheap, I have to agree on the replacement of the timing belt when they recommend.

Re Why German cars expensive to maintain repair.
Perception is reality once I find EU cars generally offer slightly better standard materials - including inside the cabin is where we spend most of the time, I always respected US engineering - especially in the powertrain department I have not any real problems with the quality of my vette is C5Z one flaw - broken wipe wash button 30K miles, and with my current C6Z any fault with 23K miles.
I'm 97 D90 I've owned since new, with 161K blown maggie mixed driving and a lot of hard transsexual Engine 4-wheeling t-box never opened.

04 I discovered that I own since, new 121k miles, no default.
I had a 02 530i my fiancée reached - she walked without any injuries This car was a crowd of electrical gremlins - including LCD segments disappearing leakage C broken heated seats, etc. Drove great but maintenance was imminent great.
I replaced the bimmer with 01 E320 Sport, which looked new, rose again, even thunks and clunks like a bank vault and 88K miles, was impeccable.

Either you're very lucky or I have terrible luck LOL.
In European vehicles I owned Vee I was quite pleased with the over all quality-but not satisfied with the additional expense of maintenance the one hand, our 71 Volvo wagon were over 300k miles when we came to court junk But the 91 BMW 735 I nickel and dimed me to death one Euro car I had was just amazing especially for a small car was my VW Golf 1 8T never had problems for 60k I put this great little commuter- took a lot of abuse, good fuel economy, etc. 2 worst were my Audi and Range Rover LWB 95 one hand, the two are very comfortable, very functional etc, but when they are bad, they cost a fortune to secure at least with my most American cars I pass goes upgrades performance.
Re Why German cars expensive to maintain repair.
IMO, German car manufacturers cram in a lot of technology and electronics in their cars compared to most domestic automakers probability of something wrong is very high this reason it cost so much to correct.
Every time I take my SL55 in the MB dealership, they are overcrowded I told the service representative that their service department is always packed compared to the Mazda dealership where I rarely take my wife SUV for serving His comment to me there is a greater demand for MB vehicles compared with Mazda and that is why they are always packed.

Hmmm sorry don t buy this Maybe because German vehicles need maintenance over jap cars.

Mabey, but I have owned both Mercedes and BMW as the German owner is much smaller and require bringing the car to anything I say these cars have their problems too have a new GMC could and I think that it is a big blow for the money that I accept some issues w the truck that I will never agree with the reason Z, Z IMO not a good bang for the buck it cost more than it's worth for I take in everything that happens and there and watch No problem is acceptable for $ 77,000 I also feel the same way my BMW 750 There's a lot of money to put up with what I think Jap owner pays less and gets a good bang for the buck and doesn t get as little or demanding because of the owner different expectations Just my 2 cents.
Re Why German cars expensive to maintain repair.

I plan to go to Germany for three years, because of a job offer I want to take my car with me, because I just bought completely new and I see no sense in buying a new car in Germany, while I have that is new in Amercia and can get it delivered to Europe, I'm just wondering insurance, because I do not quite know if I can leave behind my insurance and get a new or if I should take with me-that foreign maybe someone knows the differences in the comparison of American and German vehicle systems and could tell me what I need to get fully assured.
