German cars, once famous for their reliability, received the thumbs down in a survey by the magazine.
Big brands like Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz all have been less successful in the annual reliability survey that the magazine recently.
Less prestigious brands including Ford US better than in the past, than their German rivals.
Overall, Japanese cars were considered the most reliable in the survey of 80,000 readers, comparing 138 different models.



Mercedes-Benz slipped two categories, better on average in terms of reliability, according to the survey.
