Wellsway Sixth Form
The system of the house has been maintained since the opening of both the Keynsham High Wellsway County High School in 1956. The house system was first implemented in 1956, students from Wellsway were divided into three houses, each with their own master house, staff and captains the three houses were Bridges House, House Chandos House and Rodney the system of the house as it is today was created when the school opened in 1971 the Wellsway four houses are named after local villages; Burnett, Compton, Newton and Stanton These are then represented by a certain color, purple for Burnett, blue for Compton, Newton orange and red for Stanton.
In September 2015 it was announced that Andrea Arlidge would move into the role full-time CEO of Wellsway multi Academy confidence WMAT the role she currently as well as head of the school Wellsway It also would take the new role of executive director in December WMAT Mathew Woodville was appointed as the new director the name was changed head teacher to capital to comply with other schools WMAT.
In March 2016 Head of School Simon White announced he would leave to become principal at WMAT Jhon Cabot Academy in Bristol Kingswood.
On April 1, 2016 Mrs Arlidge became CEO and M. Woodville became principal.
The school has undergone many changes since its opening in 1956, however, many of them are new buildings or extensions, the original buildings still standing and fully functional.
Major structural changes over the years have been.
The two schools merged to form a new comprehensive school Wellsway school.
