You can import a used vehicle in South Africa if you have obtained a permit to do so.
The importation of used vehicles is limited to protect the local automotive manufacturing industry are only issued permits in circumstances specifically defined.

If you are an immigrant in good faith, submit the following documents.
A copy of your certificate of South African permanent residence.



A copy of your foreign passport page with photo and details.
A copy of your certificate of registration of foreign cars.
Proof of study or research to conclude, as appropriate.
How long does it takes up to five days to complete the process once all required documents are received.
