Gixxer Mania

If you want to see a few German cars this summer and do not want to spend the money to actually travel in Germany, you have options and one of the best options for June is Larz Anderson Auto Museum German Car Day, which will take place on the museum grounds on June 16, aka the next Citroën Rendezvous.
Each year the Larz Anderson Auto Museum has over two dozen lawn events on its beautiful grounds, and drive German Day is one of the three most popular events and every year, you are sure to see rare cars such as this one, a 1965 Glas 1300 GT Coupe Let a look more closely at this elegant machine.
BMW has been able to strike a blow with his neue klasse cars in the 1960s, but it is easy to forget the rest of the range, which included a small cut of charm with great style and a spirited full engine Before BMW took over this small manufacturer, the GT Glas sold under its own name and with its own engine.
Designed by Frua, the Glas 1300 GT was built in Dingolfing in Germany by Hans Glas GmbH first presented at the IAA in 1963, the GT is turning heads with its attractive Italian design and spacious interior bodies themselves made in Italy by a subcontractor s Frua, the Maggiora Moncalieri based coachbuilders 1300 was the basic version, with its 1,290cc four-cylinder engine, and was offered in 1965 to the release of the 1700 GT, I believe it is only after 1600 GT which was officially sold in the United States, from 1965, which would make this example a private import just over 5,300 examples of Glas GT were made between 1964 and 1967, with 363 of them being convertibles.
This particular Glas 1300 GT belongs to Christopher Alexander and wider, and has appeared in German car day Larz Anderson repeatedly, often with a BMW silver 1600 GT, which makes a clear comparison.

For German Day will take place this year Sunday, June 16, at Larz Anderson Auto Museum located in Brookline, Mass. The museum is just a few minutes outside of Boston.
I saw one of them, really moving on the M8 motorway in eastern Scotland Wow, look at Glas GB.
Ah, Glas, a company that was too good to survive the Goggomobil is probably even more loved than any other common German microcar and GT cars are hot collectibles The Glaserati was a big car as well as its construction amounted to an overbroad year that left vulnerable to Glas takeover by BMW, as NSU spent too much on the beautiful Ro 80 and is eaten by VW both Glas and NSU cheaply made, cars beautifully products treated well and had character coming out their ears, something that German cars lost when these companies are parties like the US auto industry after Studebaker-Packard and American Motors died off.
Glas saw the microcar market down and tried to move up in line with the BMW increasing prosperity has basically the same after the Isetta war, 600 700, 1500, and faces similar problems as Glas, too, had an overpriced, loss -Unity model top class 501, which would have been a total disaster if they hadn t been able to sell those police cars to Bavaria the desaster remains BMW had almost sold Mercedes-Benz in 1959 only two years later in 1966, they bought Glas, who didn t even have Quandt family.
Funny that if your nickname is along Facel Vega, a company that didn t survive its low-end movement.
If I was not all the way here in Texas, that would make for a great out of the Father's Day.
