Difference between Polish Car Wax Why is it important

Difference between wax and Polish

The two most frequently asked questions I get are; What is the best car polish to use to protect my car and what is the best car wax to use to polish my car.
Unfortunately, these issues demonstrate the great misconception in the marketplace in general to what can be achieved through the exclusive use of a car wax or polish exclusive use.
In this article, which is one of my guides to good Detailing and Car Care series, I try to dispel these Polish car against misconceptions of wax and help explain why, unless you have a car perfectly and regularly detailed you should not use first one without the other, and what benefits you will get from each.
What is the difference between car wax and polish.

First we start with the question What is a Wax A wax in its natural form comes in many forms of plant waxes namely Carnauba wax for animals waxes ie bees His is the natural properties some of these waxes that make them ideal for use in the most popular car waxes for use in the automotive industry is carnauba wax which makes it ideal type of wax is that it is.
Practically insoluble in water, so that won t disappear immediately after each washing or rain shower.
A melting point of 82-86 C to withstand high summer temperatures day without melting your car.
Although one of the hardest waxes are found in its natural form, it produces a very durable and bright finish when combined with other waxes ingredients used to produce a softer product that can be more easily applied painting.
Most car waxes will be a combination of natural wax, solvents, silicone oils, waxes and other dyes Some also contain abrasives, depending on the product under development, but for the purposes of this article, we seek to compare pure wax vs Polish giving your paint its brilliance, your wax will actually smooth the surface of the painting by filling most of imperfections in the paint.

Unfortunately, if your paint is suffering from oxidation, swirls or dullness there are only so filling that wax can achieve and what you actually do cover and hide the true nature of the reasons why your car does not look as good as it should.
Another category of wax, we have these have not yet considered is the synthetic wax or sealant again various other added ingredients that change the way the product adheres to your paint giving a more sustainable and durable finish.
The difference between waxes and sealants is again a subject in itself and I will explore this further in a future article.
However you will not find a car wax only 100 pure carnauba.
In the following section we look at what is a Polish car at the end of this present article, there are also links to a couple of related articles I wrote on waxes and specifically adapted to different paints varnishes .

Unlike a wax car polish is a product that uses an abrasive action to remove the very thin layers of the protection of the upper layer to flatten the surface in order to ensure equal and reflection of light and thus a highly polished appearance these products come in different degrees of average abrasiveness ultra thin.
Modern Polish quality will be made of what is known as the decrease abrasives which break down into smaller particles as they are worked on painting and getting finer, the more they are polished in the paint.
This avoids the need to go through various stages of abrasiveness in different bottles to get a very polished look Many varnish also contain oils improving the brightness that extra help to provide a burst of deep look for the painting.
What is missing, however, by simply applying your polish to any protection to the polished paint, which is where your wax is to protect all the work you've put in the polishing and the achievement of this brilliant shine deep.
Which, using your wax or sealant, you will now keep for a few months to several depending on the frequency of your car is used, how it is stored, the wax you used and the environment.

It should be mentioned at this stage another product group called True enamel glazes is a product that contains no abrasives, but a mixture of oils improving the brightness and Koalin that effectively fills the remaining imperfections in the paint to ensure a uniform surface light reflection.
It is good, especially on part of modern painting softer finishes not our pure Polish too often, but to use a varnish more often than polish to maintain the shine and appearance of your paint.
This will ensure that you do not take continuously clearcoat micro layers whenever your detail your car and ensuring the long-term effectiveness of your protection paints.
As in the case of polishing, but it is vitally important after using a varnish that you seal immediately with your wax or otherwise sealing the fine fillers and oils that provide the smooth reflective surface will be washed into the first rain or next car wash.

I hope this helped explain the difference between polishes and waxes, how they work and what difference they make to the appearance and protection of your painting.

Does the liquid wax is similar to polish or do paste wax I'm confused between liquid wax and paste wax and now I wonder if the liquid wax is identical.

Shivansh essentially a liquid wax is very similar to the version of the dough, but with added ingredients to soften it to a liquid form adding these chemicals do not give the polishing properties, it's just a little easier Rob used.
How features on the bucket car washing e g, pressure washing or car washing head influence the longevity of a good finish polish wax.
Hi Ray Thanks for your question The bucket method and standard pressure washers should not remove wax your car assuming you do not mix the chemicals with aggressive water with some of you touchless car washes must be a little careful that some of these will use a mild acid to help loosen dirt, then another chemical to neutralize the acid, and a high-power water jet so it's possible this could remove some your wax protection I hope this helps Rob.
