What vehicles are subject to emissions standards in California.

How do I know if my vehicle meets the emissions standards in California.
To determine whether a vehicle complies with emissions standards in California, look for these words or similar language on the certificate of origin AGC manufacturer and label emissions under the hood.
California single vehicle This vehicle corresponds to U S EPA and California regulations for model year vehicle model year new motor vehicles introduced commercially only for sale in California.
Vehicle 50 State This vehicle complies with EPA regulations and U of California applicable to the model year vehicle model year new cars.



Federal car certified for sale in California This vehicle corresponds to the U S EPA regulations applicable to model year vehicle model year new motor vehicles, and is certified for sale in California.
My vehicle complies with the emission standard in California, but it is not on the AGC, or I didn AGC What I can do.
If your vehicle meets the emissions standard in California, but the MCO does not indicate compliance or you do not have a certificate of the original manufacturer AGC, you or the car dealer can certify compliance on a compliance certificate form MV-74 emissions or exemption.
If your vehicle is exempt from the emissions standard in California, you or the car dealer can fill the MV-74 form to certify whether the exemption.

Note Even if your vehicle meets the emissions standards in California, it is subject to safety requirements and control NYS emissions.
