Creating miracles in your life with the Law of Attraction - Stuart Wilde
John kindly provided a list of every car in the Percy Markham Collection and some details about them and I had the great idea to create a small virtual museum online It was a little harder than I thought although some of the cars are so obscure that I could not find a picture of them online I remember with some regret when my brother Craig and I were in our early teens, we d bought a set of postcards showing the West Australian museum collection Although I inveterate hoarder, my parents are not, and these cards are long gone.
You can imagine my surprise however when I recently pulled an old shoebox under extra beds and over there were postcards Museum WA What a shock that I had saved after all, as well as sets black and white photos I d taken to York in 1980 50 flight shopping My father was something of an amateur photographer at the time, we used to develop our own and print photos at home.
Thus, with a whimsical accident conservation I present a virtual museum collection Percy Markham where I have attached the relevant text of the postcard and credits as well as some of the comments of John and memories that I still don t You have photos or details of all cars then please do not hesitate to contact me for any information, details or photos that can help expand the presentation.

Here is a comment from Dean B, who worked on the restoration of this car as an apprentice.
Dear Paul, something triggered my memory of the collection Percy Markham, and Google, found your excellent blog I have a very distant connection with one of the cars of the Percy collection in the world 1976 and you might find vaguely interesting allow me to explain.
I was making an instrument apprentice with a small company in Subiaco called TISCO Pty Ltd 1975-1980 74 The owner and my boss was hard Stanley who also had an interest in classic cars TISCO was for many years one of the few companies in Perth that could calibrate the instruments of the car and became very well known as the place to have your car checked speedo - often because of excessive arguing end speed We also have special rooms if possible for just about any mechanical instrument.
I remember in 1976, as a 16 year old trainee asks to make special parts for an old Bentley They were connectors handles mounted on the ends of the spark plug and son to stay close parts original as possible, we got a special black plastic rod which was the same substance used back when this Bentley was quite strange as it may seem, this plastic was actually made from curd and had been developed during World war II as a substitute for bakelite was too weak for certain uses, I think this plastic was known as casein.
I wondered why I was trusted to make parts like these for such a valuable car as I started cutting the first piece of this special plastic in turn, the answer came to me this thing stunk It felt like milk which was very wide, but many times stronger Until then, I doubted he was really made of milk - thinking it was one of those stories apprentices to see how gullible they are anyway, apart from the stench, he, I pretty well machined also made some brass inserts that came into the handles and they were like a miniature spear point with a slot cut in the end to allow it to slide over the screw terminal of the old-style candles.
Percy Markham came to the shop to pick up and was impressed by the proximity of the originals, they looked I felt really proud that I d Incorporate some parts for a classic car that were as good as the originals.
Years later, when I heard that the collection was purchased by the state government and was to be sold, I felt quite sad that this valuable collection was breaking But I had the satisfaction of know that somewhere there is an old Bentley with some spark plug connectors made by me.
