Germany # 39; s Romantic Rhine and Rothenburg

Anyone with a newer knowledge should feel free to correct me because it is a time that I was there.
For all I know, they will sell to free you from the German VAT if you buy the German export auto dealers will not disclose a car sold to a buyer upon registration, plates and insurance are instead, so unless you plan to register the car in Germany and I guess you're not you have to come with all these.
In preparation, you must make arrangements for the Swiss registration plates etc on your back with a Swiss car dealer shop and a Swiss insurer will be able to give you 5 days or term insurance to cover the pick-up and back in Switzerland or the dealer or insurer I forget which will give you special export plates.
Allegedly this is quite routine, so they all know what you need when you approach them.
If you buy a new car, it is much easier than the German manufacturer can often arrange local delivery through a Swiss distributor.

If you have a go at this, please let us know how it goes.

I would check before beginning because I believe that the import taxes on cars whose fuel consumption and greater capacity engines just raised to make it a less attractive option.
Keep in mind that the car is less salable when an import because the Swiss are picky like that.
There are companies that provide the service to you, but it's expensive.
I know people who still have saved a lot of money doing it.

As I understand it, if the car is for less than a year on the import of the car, you will be charged the full VAT taxes.
You must prove that you own the car for a while and that proved the car is not worth much.
Then watchout for stict potential additional cost for the vehicle to pass smog expertise further testing this idea financially risk very very tricky.

I did it and it is not difficult, just requires money the border because they do not take card payments.
Basically, you get 19 tank back in Germany, if it can be sold without VAT Mehrwertsteuer ausweisbar very important, which can only be done if it is a former car company, and through a broker, sales of privat did arent tax excempt.
Swiss also got charged extra for DC motor show.
