Northern Soul | An interview with Ricky Tomlinson
Although the show is titled German Classic Car Show it may be time for a new car just as German Show Interestingly enough, if you click on the link at the top of this thread promotional cars featured are a pair of 911s dating probably in the early 1980s - they are classic, I do not know, but they're German and interesting one of our members bought along the new type 991 Porsche 911, a car that certainly hasn t resisted the test of time and can not at this stage, considered a classic However, I would bet that there were many people at Haigh hall, who found it interesting to take a look at purely because there aren t many of them about and everyone is in the habit of jumping in their local Porsche dealer look around for these reasons, I think the car had the right to be at the show.
Of course, the other thing to consider is whether an old car is a classic, or a classic must have some special merit, it was suggested that an old E36 did not deserve to show a plain Jane E36 318 less important than M535 Sometimes it s kitchen models in the range which first disappear and almost makes them more interesting to shows because they're weird on generally more expensive high performance cars that have been registered in the scrap heap.
To return to the question TT - as I said above, many TT owners are fanatical about their cars and I think it's fair to let them show them that they are not necessarily classic, but may be worth looking at if altered, listening, etc. Exceptional condition and often the owners are more than happy just to talk car to a stranger at a show fair play to them, I sincerely hope that they run the show room Haigh again next year, and if they do I'll strive to be there with my 911 is not particularly old nor a particularly interesting specification, but if it looks good in a range club and made someone smile is good enough for me lessons, if I could find an old M5 to show, I d the envy of everyone.
So we got back from the all in all a good show, but a few observations.
Nowhere this publicity as having occurred no signs on the roads outside the main entrance no signs in the main car park no sign in the chamber room you catch my drift which missed opportunity because the show takes place in the plots of land less casual visitors to the room wouldn t even be aware of the show took place.
Also its second year and already the show suffers from the same time same place syndrome you get a lot of car shows you know the same cars on the same year after year not, etc. Green 911 KEV with the license plate picture above was exactly the same place last year even with many other cars on display.
As the music played on the sound system was awful imo.
Let's see some changes next year please the organizers.
Two things that I thought the music was quite acceptable How next year, you will find a more worthy car that Kev 997 GT3RS and I'll ask Kev do not bring a car and you can display your Fair ' offer.
